On December 13th, the Avon Lions will be visiting the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky. With the help of our own Santa John, we will deliver cookies and personalized cards to the nearly 700 vets who live there. Please plan to meet at 9 am at the American Legion on Walker Road to load the van. Many of our Lions involved last year said this was the best event they had ever experienced. The vets were extremely touched someone would take the time to visit them personally, and not just mail the cards.
Anyone who has committed to writing out cards, please turn them in to Jim Harley by December 7th. Jim can be reached at (440) 381-9843.
