On Saturday, May 11th the Avon Lions Club hosted a “Night at the Races” fundraising event to benefit the new Lions North Central Ohio Vision Clinic in Lorain, Ohio. The event was held at Tom’s Country Place in Avon with 130 guests in attendance.
The food was terrific and there was an abundance of activities including sideboards, 50/50 raffles, Chinese auctions, and of course, horse racing. The DJ kept things moving between races with music and humorous videos — everyone had a great time.
The event raised $5,000, and matching funds were donated to bring the grand total to $10,000 for the vision clinic. Many thanks to Lion Doug Wetzig for his leadership in organizing the event, the Vision Clinic Committee, the Lions Clubs in 13B, and all the Lions who came out and supported this event to make it a great success.
