During the Month of May, Avon Lions demonstrated their civic pride by participating in two remarkable events. One was Avon Pride Day, and the other was the annual Memorial Day Parade.
Avon Pride day took place on May 16th with volunteers from a variety of clubs and civic groups joining forces throughout Avon to clean up trash, trim shrubs and generally beautify the city after a long, harsh winter. The Avon Lions were tasked with cleaning, grubbing, planting and mulching around the Avon Lions Community Center across the street from Northgate Park.
On May 25th, Avon Lions, family members and LEOs laced up their shoes and donned their red and purple shirts to march in the Memorial Day parade. There was a huge turnout for the parade to honor all those who have served, and especially to commemorate those who have died in service of the United States of America.
