silver-rail-2016-2The Avon Lions Club created the traveling trophy based on the railroad tracks which divide the cities of Avon and Avon Lake.  The Lions wanted to elevate the sense of community spirit within and between the two cities as part of this project, and the teams have demonstrated a friendly rivalry based on mutual respect.

Another positive result of this project was the Lions were able to raise money for the local food pantry. At half time of the game, the Avon Lions Club presented Community Resource Services a check for $1,000.00 in support of their annual “SOUPer Bowl” food drive.  The donation was the result of the annual Southwest Coaches Football Preview fundraiser held August 4th.
